I carry a little digicam with me everywhere I go, and yet I somehow always forget to use it until I get home and want to blog. So this blog will, unfortunately, lack pictures. It catalogs all the things I've done recently but forgot to take photos of:
- cook dinner consisting of 3 dishes, 1 soup, and rice in a pot (without a rice cooker!) for my hallmates
- eat Tianjin's famous savory crepes, called jianbingguozi 煎饼果子. It's a crepe filled with crunchy cracker/fried dough pieces, fried egg, cilantro, and a sweet and spicy sauce.
- eat lots of charcoal roasted veggie and meat kebabs
- eat dinner with my new Chinese friend who took me to this literal hole in the wall place for spicy lo-mein and kebabs
- go out for shabu shabu/ hot pot with my hallmates and follow-up with 3+ hours of karaoke (or as they call it here, ktv).
Hehe, yes, the most interesting things happening in my life here revolve around food...
