Milk not so good after all...


I retract my previous positive post about Chinese milk. See this New York Times article about the kidney stone-causing baby formula. The factory that produced the problem formula is in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, which is really close to Tianjin. I read in my guidebook that it's a 1-2 hour train ride away. Apparently, the two big Chinese brands Mengniu (Mongolian Cow, which I took a picture of several posts ago) and Yili have recalled some of their products. I'm not drinking Chinese milk anymore. Better to suffer from osteoporosis later than to get kidney stones or melamine poison.
